Went for lunch at Polstar today and it was amazing. They have three options for lunch; a set lunch, a curry or a soup. These change up regularly. They can also cater for vegetarian diets. The cafe is waste free and they make their own spicy orange chutney which is super yummy and reduces food waste! We had a lovely waitress who spoke English which was very nice. She was also happy to help us get to the waste management site and even gave us a map to help! Delicious food, wonderful staff, we will definitely be returning! Thanks Polstar!!!

We spent 5 night in Kamikatsu learning about the zero waste initiative. Three mornings 5 of us had breakfast at the cafe. We found the service to be impeccable and polite. The breakfast was beautifully served and delicious, particularly the homemade jams from seasonal fruits. The ingredients are locally sourced which added to the taste. The ambiance is peaceful and artistic.

Delicious, local, vegetarian, an absolutely beautiful building. This was one of my favorite meals in Japan. Please try the almond tofu dessert-- it's magical!

The place has a wonderful atmosphere and pleasing staff. The iced coffee with ice cream is perfect to partner with scones or cheesecake. I loved how they support local farmers and making efforts in zero waste business mindfulness.

Delicious food, excellent coffee, and the loveliest staff! The space is warm and welcoming, with a calm, relaxing vibe. I also loved the inspiring book collection and the beautiful pottery pieces — each one feels like it has a story to tell. It's also a great space for intimate events. A gem of a café worth returning to.

An amazing place with an amazing mission. Not only do they have great food and coffee, they also feature many local products such as pottery and have a very pleasant library even featuring some locally made books on poetry. I highly recommend going here as part of the INOW programme or if you’re in around the area regardless.
